Courier Software: Where Delivery Businesses Actually Lose Money
Ask any courier operator where the money leaks and you'll hear the same two answers. Both come down to the same root cause: a parcel or a taka that nobody is currently responsible for.
Every parcel needs a current owner
Booked, picked up, at hub, in transit, out for delivery, delivered or returned — and at each status, a named person or branch holds it. When a customer calls, you should be able to say who has it right now, not "let me check".
COD settles daily or it becomes an argument
Rider deposits should be recorded against the specific parcels they collected for, the same day. Weekly or monthly reconciliation turns into a memory contest that the company usually loses.
Build the rider app for cheap phones
- Works on low-end Android and weak signal
- Deliveries recorded offline, synced when the network returns
- Proof of delivery — a photo or signature, not just a tap
- Failed attempts need a reason, chosen from a fixed list
Public tracking pays for itself
A tracking page plus an SMS at each status change removes a large share of incoming calls. For most operators that's a support person's worth of time back every month.
