E-Commerce Website Cost in Bangladesh: Ready-Made or Custom?
Most sellers who ask about cost already sell on Facebook. They take orders in the inbox, write them in a notebook and call the courier themselves. The question is really, "What will it cost to stop doing this by hand?" The answer depends on how much of it you want the system to do.
Route one: a ready-made store
If you sell a normal catalogue with cash on delivery, bKash and Nagad, you do not need custom development. Our own XpressEcom starts from ৳8,000 and includes the storefront, cart, checkout, order tracking, coupons, delivery zones and an admin panel. Installation and 30 days of support are free.
Route two: custom, when the business needs it
- Several outlets or warehouses sharing one stock
- A shop counter (POS) and the website selling from the same inventory
- Courier integration that books parcels and updates status automatically
- Wholesale and retail prices, or dealer-specific pricing
- Multi-vendor marketplace with vendor payouts
Each of these is real engineering work, so custom stores are quoted after we understand the operation. A common, cheaper path is to start on the ready-made product and add custom features on the same codebase later.
Costs outside the development bill
- Domain and hosting renewal every year
- Payment gateway charges per transaction
- SMS for order confirmation and OTP
- Product photos and descriptions, which someone has to prepare
- Marketing: a store nobody visits sells nothing
Which one should you pick?
If you are moving from a Facebook page to your first website, start ready-made and spend the saved money on photos and marketing. Go custom when a specific manual task is costing you staff time every day and no ready product handles it. Tell us how orders move through your business today and we will say honestly which route fits.
